Yamaha CDR 200 Upgrade
Top of the CDR 200 board:
how-to:
- look when the writer was manufactured, it is only possible with writers manufactured before April 1998
- open the bottom-cover of your 2x-writer (4 little screws)
- turn the writer like the picture above
- lock what revision your board has ( A, B, C or D in a quadrat of the board)
- look where the Resistor R621 (3,3 k) is located (beside the arrow at the picture)
- he Q / D stands for quaddro / doubble
- cut it (with a soldering iron or with a pliers)
- close the cover
- and take your 4x-writer back to your pc - cool !!!
- end
- if the LEDs are blinking use an older firmware
how many cache do you have?:
- Yamaha-writers have in the most times only 1 MB cache
- Traxdata-writers have in the most times 2 MB cache
- writers with the manufacturing date september ´97 and later should have 2 MB
- writers with IC 616 on board have 2 MB cache
- the type of IC 616 is:
